Yes it is 3:30 in the AM. Here's a photo from a few summers ago that was taken during one of our many adventures through our great state.

Sheep in wolf's clothing

Custom built Fiat 5oo that was designed to be a Ferrari tribute. Concept is based on the Disney movie Cars. The character Lugi who works in the tire shop and dreams of being a Ferrari. This car was sprayed with actual Ferrari red paint, has Ferrari center caps on the wheels and custom tan leather interior. I'm pretty sure this is the nicest vintage Fiat 500 on the planet. I shot these photos for the shop that built the car.





I was also playing around with this version to give a little background color to make the red pop. Not sure if I like it more or less. Let me know which you prefer.

How you like me now?

New guy starts parking in the spot you've parked in for the last few years, and also takes up 2 spots cause he's super important with his "new" used A8. What do you do?



Box him in and park right next to him anyway. Burn!
We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Polish-fest 9000

Spent all night at the shop hand polishing the aluminum for the '56.

Started by wet sanding all the ribs on the rear tray with 2000 grit. Then hit it with some compound and lots of muscle.






Here's how it looks with the zebra wood.






Then GJ and I polished the set of original Thunderbird Y Block valve covers.

Xmas in March

I love getting packages in the mail. Today my new finned aluminum Triumph motor mounts from Maund Speed arrived. These are solid cast aluminum and are fantastic. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to polish them or leave them in a raw finish.

Great commercial. In my opinion one of the best in a long time. Great song ("how you like me now, by The Heavy"), great characters. Even though I not in the market for a Kia Sorento this commercial gets me excited for summer.

Trump

I got the Triumph tins back from blasting this week with a few surprises I wasn't expecting. The '36 Ford spare tire ring came out great. The tank on the other hand revealed some past battle scars.

Got the Vespa unloaded and just need to sand blast all the body parts this week.

I knocked out one of the larger side cowl dents. Once it's been blasted I'll finish making it all smooth like it was never there.

Cheese Monger

Anyone that knows me, knows that I love cheese. Last Monday we were eating at Tony Caputo's downtown and they are one of five shops in the country with a legit cheese cave. We got to sample a bunch of European cheeses I've never heard of. One of the cheeses we brought home was a double aged Gouda. This is aged more than 4 years and the lactose is actually crystalizing. Sooo tastey.

I <3 Nordic Gold

Porsche Nordic Gold is my favorite color right now. Too new for the shoebox but I'd love to paint something in this hue and add an extra coat of gold pearl.

Source Interlink Cover!!

Just found out tonight that back in August the photos I shot of the STS Corvette ended up on the cover of Vette Magazine. It's been my long time photo goal to have a cover on one of Source Interlink's publications. Source Interlink Media is the largest Automotive publisher in the world and home to the most well known auto magazines. So this was very unexpected and kind of a big deal for me. I just ordered up a few back issues so I'll post up the scans when they arrive.

Spotted...Vantastic

Spotted on the way to work, this gem of a van. Party on the outside, business on the inside. Who can blame a person from trying to add a little excitement to their driving experience. I mean nobody willingly wants to drive around in a box on wheels. I am questioning the ketchup and mustard theme though.

Good news...I'm not color blind

So I got that going for me. It's good to know I'm not color blind since I'm a photographer and graphic designer so it's somewhat important. Take the test and make sure you're not color blind.

Not gonna lie

I'm not gonna lie, sitting behind the wheel of a 450 hp V12 Aston Martin Vanquish feels pretty good. Pushing the start button on the dash and hearing all those ponies roar to life is pretty awesome. And you gotta love the feel of diamond stitch alcantara cradling you while you pull a gear from the column mounted paddle shifters. Sick.
